Special Announcement; The launch of the Troubardour in Costa Rica.

You might not knows this but the origin of Troubardour Coffee is a traveling cocktail bar (The Troubardour) — A magical bar that sailed the seas from the forest of New Hampshire into the rainforest of Costa Rica.

How/why/where/what/when is a long story; One best told over a great cocktail while we watch the sun set in Costa Rica– but in the meantime, it is with profound and intense joy that I proudly announce that in just a few weeks this first quarter of 2021 we will be officially launching a great dream; the Troubardour Cocktail Bar experience in Costa Rica at Òköm!

Troubardour is not just a bar. It's a hand-made piece of art, a symbol for all the great things that life can be. It's not just about cocktails, it's about joy, and amplifying our senses — what we smell, taste, hear, and feel deep inside when we get together to celebrate. When I built the Troubardour, partly using the wood of my dear late grandmother's piano, I envisioned a generator of beautiful positive energy that created incredible music, lights, cocktails, and visual art— A Great Gatsby party on wheels. My dream was to build a bar that was so special that when you touched it you would feel it and never forget it. I wanted people to have fun, and connect and make memories around it. I love that is has wheels because it's there to remind you that life is always moving.

The bar is the symbol and heart of Troubardour Coffee because it was created to inspire and awaken, like the fabled Troubadours from the middle ages.

The bar received an overhaul and full refurbish in 2020 and it is now ready for the last part of its journey as the centerpiece of Òköm, a creative eco-tourism project that was designed and created by my friend Luis Angel Vega Arauz, a fellow Troubardour, dreamer, artist, mixologist and fellow human being full of life and love.

Òköm originates from the dialect of the local indigenous Bribri tribe and it means 'to travel'. Our guests will enjoy a beautiful one-hour journey from the capital of San Jose deep into the green lush mountains of Piedras Negras, a remote village near Ciudad Colon a popular biking and eco-tourist destination. When they arrive at Òköm they will find the bar in the middle of an exquisite natural setting surrounded by local wildlife including monkeys, deer, mountain tigers, coyotes and birds of all kind. Nature and peace will surround you! We know that our guests will feel an energy that is so strong and clean it will while out mental baggage so that their minds are able to let go and clear, enabling grounded dreams to fly freely into higher ground.

Òköm is an outdoor 5-dimensional culinary experience with The Troubardour as its center piece. Each night we will bring in live music, DJ's and a live art performance show.

Our guests will have many places to explore in the gardens, from private nooks in between the trees to outdoor hammocks and super-comfy outdoor lounges around the bar. There will be many picnic areas will be serviced by Saloneros y Bartenders VIP who will bring our guests an incredible array of their hand-crafted cocktails created by top Costa Rican mixologists inside the Troubardour using the freshest and most delicious Costa Rican tropical fruits, as well as a hand-picked selection of cold local craft beers, fine wines and a full bistro menu cooked by our chef in our outdoor BBQ.

During the day we will also be offering aquatic Yoga in a crystalline river that runs next to the property and at night we'll turn on our outdoor cinema so everyone can enjoy a great movie while sipping cocktails. Want to spend the night and have another cocktail or two? Go ahead, we have ready to go Glamping tents for you to spend the night with your closed ones and when the sun rises our restaurant will open its doors every day at 6 A.M. breakfast of gallo pinto (typical Costa Rican beans and rice), eggs, handmade tortillas and of course— Troubardour Coffee— all made in our typical Costa Rican wood-fired oven.

Òköm is an exploration into the art of the experience and we know this is just the beginning! If anybody wants to get married (or divorced) we’ll be available for private events as well! Launching in a few weeks.
